PTFA

A warm welcome to Meadow PTFA

Emma and Sam, the co-chairs of Meadow PTFA, along with the rest of the committee welcome you to Meadow Primary School.

We are a very active PTFA, and we support the school by raising as much money as we can to enhance, enrich and improve learning experiences for the children. In the last few years, the PTFA has refurbished the library, funded the playground equipment and trim trail, created a sensory space, and funded the audio-visual equipment for the hall. We also provide those 'little extras' that make school memorable, such as Year 6 leavers yearbooks, annual class Christmas presents, toys for wet play, computing and art supplies, and much more.

Community Spirit & Fun

We also exist to bring families together within the school and create a sense of community spirit and pride. We have a series of events throughout the year which create opportunities for parents and children to come together and make the school experience more fun for the children. Lastly, we’re here for the simple reason that we want to get together socially, meet new people, and have fun!

PTFA Committee

The PTFA is run by a committee who are all volunteers. All families automatically become members of the PTFA when your child joins the school. There are lots of ways to be involved and the more helpers we have, the more we can do. You may have useful skills, information or contacts that are new to us, and we love hearing fresh ideas – most of our efforts are organising events from our desks.

We have an AGM every January to elect our core Committee, followed by monthly meetings where the core group take the lead in organising all the fantastic events – everyone is welcome to these meetings.

Our current officials are:

Co-Chairs: Emma Rothwell and Samantha Tuff

Treasurer: Abby Hope

Secretary: Rosie Locky

Procurement: Angela Robledo

Class Rep Coordinator: Amy Turk

Social media coordinator: Flori-Ann Mondoloni

How you can help

The events for your children only happen because parents like you are volunteering an hour here and there to help support us – and we are super grateful to you. The more people are involved, the more we can achieve and the easier it will be. Maybe you could come to our monthly meeting, help set up an event, run a stall at the summer fair, marshal at an event, sell raffle tickets, or design a poster? Perhaps you have a professional skill you could help us out with? Do reach out and let us know.

Our Events

Our big annual events are our Summer Fair and Fireworks Night. We also run school discos, sell ice creams and doughnuts and arrange school-based activities throughout the year.  Our first event of the new school year is usually the September Macmillan Coffee Morning, which is straight after school drop off and a great opportunity to meet other parents.
